With various new projects in several states, CS Energy is growing at a rapid pace. They continue to be diligent with their solar plants as they choose military bases and landfills as locations, all while working to pair their current sites with solar storage.
CS Energy has recently developed various solar projects across the country. In Texas, CS Energy is building three different solar projects, totaling around 33 MW of capacity. This amount of renewable energy will power 5,000 homes per year in Texas. In New Jersey, they are wrapping up a 28.5 MW project on a military base. A few months prior, they also completed a 4.5 MW project in Massachusetts. This gives CS energy a total installed capacity of almost 1 GW.
Based out of New Jersey, CS Energy has made impressive developments recently as they work to build their renewable energy brand. The projects in Texas begin with a 14.5 MW project in Brooks County, 7.3 MW in McLennan County, and 10.9 MW in Menard County. All three of these locations were engineered, organized, and built at the same time. Although they are all smaller projects, they seem to be spreading solar across various counties instead of committing to a larger project. Oncor Electric Delivery and AEP Energy are the utilities covering this power.
CS Energy has also been a leader in the movement towards solar storage. Although their projects are smaller, they have begun to add storage to various solar projects. In Amesbury, Massachusetts, CS Energy installed a 4.5 MW project with 2.8 MW of lithium-ion storage. This was built on a landfill cap site and is the largest solar plus storage system in the city by Kearsarge Energy, a renewable energy developer and financer.
The is owned by Ben Moreell Solar Farm and the Department of Navy who organized a lease on 170 acres of land for a 28.5 MW project. CS Energy designed and installed the solar plant at Naval Weapons Station Erle in Tinton Falls. Vitol Green Holdings LLC plans to tie the energy to the local utility grid so that it can power the base in the case of an emergency. This would require more investment and developments to be possible, but as the base has a combined workforce of 1,500 personnel, it would be a great idea to have it be powered by clean energy.
âWith close to 1 GW of solar capacity installed worldwide, CS Energy is a proven partner for delivering solar power projects that maximize the use of the terrain while offering high levels of output,â said R. Andrew de Pass, Head of Renewables for Vitol Inc.
This is not the first project of its kind that CS Energy has developed. They focus on efficiency and have installed solar and solar storage projects on various U.S bases totaling 80 MW. This NWS Earle plant is one of the largest military installations across the globe. It will also be contributing to New Jerseyâs 2020 Energy Master Plan, aiming to meet 100% renewable energy by 2050. This is a common goal across various states and countries this year.
CS Energy carefully decides where to locate its solar projects to optimize the results. 160 MW of their solar installations are in landfills, while many others are on military bases. CS Energyâs intelligence and diligence is why they were ranked in the top 20 Solar Contractors in the US by Solar Power World, and named #1 commercial solar installer in various states with leading market share. With their continued development and progress, CS Energy makes itself a strong investment and opportunity to become involved in. Profits are not the only side of a deal, and it shows that this company has truly thought about the âbigger pictureâ of solar.
